chicagocrime.org is a freaky-cool use of the Google maps - the latest feature allows you to click on a route (say the route from your office to a nearby restaurant), and see which crimes have been reported, and where. Maybe I ought to make my route slightly different, there is a lot of aggravated assaults on this list (click the button 'show crimes on route').....
