Because I couldn't take Natarus' wicked glare staring at me at the top of the page. Ewwww.

Millennium Park
Millennium Park
Taken the evening before Millennium Park officially opened. This pond is about 2 cm deep, so you can walk right on top of the water if you have a heel on your shoe. Of course, plenty of people just take off their shoes altogether.

On Taylor Street and Loomis.

Not sure if the Jane Addams Homes are scheduled to be demolished or not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Didn't look for these WPA sculptures as we were too hungry, and headed to Rosebud, to explore.

Congratualations on some great pictures! What a great town this is.

Re: ABLA (Jane Adams Homes)

Good news: The sculptures will be saved. They are in the process of being moved, cleaned up etc. and will be reinstalled in a park in the same area.

Looks like all the building are coming down to be replaced by a combination of subsidized, "affordable" and market rate housing. Hopefully no Jane Adams current tenant is out of luck. I drive by every day and it looks pretty good.

PS: My "source" is the Chicago Journal.(The "peach" South Loop neighborhood newspaper.)

Thanks, MPJ.

The Chicago Journal told me a photo was going to be published, but I haven't gotten a copy yet.

Good news about the sculptures as well.

cheers!
