The Ladykillers

Another fragmented entry from my film notes moleskin

"The Ladykillers (Widescreen Edition)" (Ethan Coen, Joel Coen)

D went to sleep, I kept watching more out of inertia than of any curiosity as to what happens in this eminently disposable faux-noir. A cartoon-esque thriller, a version of Ocean's Eleven set on the Mississippi (Natchez, Mississippi mostly), involving a poorly executed robbery of gambling casino, and as many southern stereotypes as could be stuffed into 104 minutes. Apparently, a remake of a 1954 British film.
Meh. Some of the music is good.
