The big question in my mind is: What made so many Americans support the war in the first place? Cold War school drills? Cold War propaganda which somehow triggered the xenophobe in so many of us?
I remember hearing friends from Cornell justifying the invasion and attack on Saddam. They bought the video of white trucks, used more than once. Literate people never read the piece by a journalist who saw a few guys from the Airbourne 101 break the lock of a big arsenal of canisters, which were used right after the 2004 election.
How can you explain this lack of information and change of positions?

I wonder how many people who supported the war really understood what was going on. If they only got their news from CNN and Fox, they probably had no clue as to what the war was really about. And also, I remember attending anti-war rallies pre-invasion, and they were well attended. I bet more people opposed the war than was acknowledged at the time.
